The WaterMark certification is the main plumbing product quality scheme applied to tapware in Australia,  and New Zealand.   Whilst it is mandatory in Australia, New Zealand is yet to implement this testing and certification.  FORENO. are proud to say that we are volunteers to be included in this scheme and strive to create WaterMark approved products where possible.

Because of this, a significant amount of our tapware products are tested and meet these standards and that our processes and packaging adhere to the AS/NZS 3718 Standard which includes the AS/NZS 4020 Standard for the “Testing of tapware products for use in contact with drinking water”.

What this actually means is that products that meet these standards must not release certain metals (such as lead) beyond minute quantities, and that the limits for lead content align with the requirements as detailed in the Drinking-Water Standards for New Zealand 2005 (Revised 2008) publication by the Ministry of Health.

Only a handful of tapware companies in New Zealand can use the WaterMark symbol, so when you buy a FORENO. product that has a WaterMark shown – you will know you are buying low lead tapware, and the healthiest tapware available to New Zealanders.

To be sure that you are choosing products that meets these requirements, browse our range of WaterMark certified tapware below, or choose from our 304 Stainless Steel Lead Free Tapware range.
